It’s so sad that Cyclone Michaung killed nine people in India’s southern city Chennai. It’s very important people should pay attention to the Indian Meteorological Department and move to a safe place temporarily (“Nine dead as cyclone batters India’s southeast coast,” Dec.5, Gulf Today website).
According to the report, chest-high waters surged down the streets of India’s southern city Chennai on Tuesday with nine people killed in intense floods as Cyclone Michaung was set to make landfall on the southeast coast. The cyclone was forecast to hit the coast of Andhra Pradesh state around midday on Tuesday, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
The tragic climate change is the biggest challenge the world is facing and it’s so alarming. Heavy rain, flooding and frequent cyclones have been claiming precious lives in different parts of the world.
Nothing is impossible to achieve in this world. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. I am sure the world is fully capable of addressing global warming and saving itself from catastrophe. The ongoing UN Climate Change Conference COP28 at Expo City Dubai, in Dubai is a ray of hope pointing out that the world will reach a concrete road map to deal with climate change and save the present and future generations from its disasters.
