Team India have lost their first Test match against South Africa in Centurion. We should never forget that defeating South Africa on their home ground is not an easy task for any team. South Africa are at their best when they play at home. The Indian media and former players have started bashing the team for their loss. But I feel these days lots of competitive matches are going on. Players everywhere play lots of cricket these days and this must have been tiring for them too. I feel players should be given rest also. They too like us are human beings.
They need mental peace also. Playing competitive cricket is not a joke. This applies to all international players. That’s why so many players go on a sabbatical. I feel rather than bashing international players, we should stand by them. We all know cricket is a game of glorious uncertainty, anything can happen on any given day. It is one of the toughest games I feel we have. Every day players have to perform. We all want our teams to win every match they play, which is completely irrational. We also should be practical in our expectations.
