This year’s Golden Globe Award’s headlines seem to be dominated mainly by Timothée Chalamet and his plus one, Kylie Jenner, and their shenanigans to Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift apparently gossiping about them. We are, however, taking a look at all the winners from one of the biggest nights in TV and film.
Emma Stone won Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for her role in the movie “Poor Things.” Based on a 1992 novel of the same name by author Alasdair Gray, the film tells the story of a young woman who is resurrected by a scientist in Victorian era London. Stone was also nominated for Female Actor in a Television Series – Drama for “The Curse.”
The Female Actor in a Supporting Role on Television award was won by the super talented actress Elizabeth Debicki for her portrayal of the late Princess Diana in “The Crown.” This win was well deserved as Debicki did such a great job in this role. The resemblance between her and the late Princess is uncanny at times.
Robert Downey Jr. took home the award for Male Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture for his role in “Oppenheimer.” The film did very well at the Globes scooping up a total of five awards. The television show “Succession” also did well, winning a total of four awards.
On the whole the award show went down very well with audiences and critics alike, with the exception of one main component. Stand-up comedian Jo Koy’s poor hosting abilities left him open to a lot of criticism and backlash. His jokes did not go down well and I doubt he will be asked to host again.
