We have of too much cricket all across the globe these days. Internationally we have the Test, ODI and T20 format. Then almost all cricketing nations have their own T20 Leagues like the Indian Premier League, Pakistan Super league, Big Bash etc. Lots of cricket these days are happening all around the world. But what I have noticed that too much of cricket has started affecting players and we don’t get much players who can play for their country for a long time.
Earlier I remember India had Mohammad Azharuddin, Sachin Tendulkar, Saurav Ganguly, Rahul David while Pakistan had Javed Miandad, Waseem Akram, Waqar Yunis. Those players went on to play for their country for a very long time and remained fit throughout their career. They all became legends once they retired. We still remember them and miss them. In the same way, we got to see Brian Lara, Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist, Kevin Pietersen. The entire world would watch them play. But since the onset of the T20 format, we get to see extraordinary players but they vanish in a couple of years. They lack consistency. This is a bad sign for global cricket.
