It’s the responsibility of restaurant owners to make sure that there will not be any compromise on the quality of food and clean and hygienic environment because restaurant business is directly linked with the health of its customers (“Restaurant shut down for violating food safety requirements in Abu Dhabi,” March 16, Gulf Today website).
According to the report, the Authority stated that the decision to shut down the restaurant was made due to repeated violations of food safety requirements. It was given a warning and slapped with two fines for high-risk violations, notably insects in the kitchen.
The prompt action of Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority which shut down a restaurant in Abu Dhabi due to non-compliance of the authority’s orders, violating the Food Law No. 2 of 2008 and the regulations made thereunder, and for posing a risk to public health.
I am sure the action taken against restaurant in Abu Dhabi for high-risk violations will be a wakeup call for other restaurant owners who are ignoring warning by Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority.
