The 9th edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) turned out to be a great tournament. It was a great tournament, which concluded on Monday night. Islamabad United (IU) defeated mighty Multan Sultans (MS) in a nail biting thriller. Both the teams deserved to be in the final. I did not expect Multan to lose the final because they had great time during the whole tournament and looked very confident team from the beginning, while Islamabad gained momentum. It was great to see Mohammed Rizwan and Shadab Khan giving their best for the coveted trophy but ultimately it was Shadab, who managed to lift the trophy. It was great to see lots of international and local players playing together, and learning from each other’s presence.
People expected Multan Sultans to win the tournament but it was Islamabad United, which managed to hold their nerves till the end. I appreciate Shadab captaincy. He led his team from the front. He himself was in great form with the bat and ball. I liked the way Shadab encouraged his boys to be the best. He was constantly motivating them to give their best and they did eventually. This is the best final I have seen in recent time.
