Reading this year’s CBSE marks notched up by the 10th and 12th made me get horripilation as it took me back at the time when I completed my high school out here in 2003. The exuberance and grin on the face of the students shows that hard work pays off. Those days we had nothing to do but study and I would find books, pens, papers, guides placed all on my table. March was usually the month to complete my board exams and after completing my last exam I was done with high school once. As I was trekking down to catch my bus to head home whilst my other class mates were behind spraying everyone’s shirts with delirium I bid adios and thanked the school for providing me the quality education in the UAE ever since I was a child.
Although my exams were over I still had my question papers with me where I was my own judge calculating the marks that I think I might get. We had no mobiles, no google, nothing. On the day when the results were announced I passed and that was enough for me know that unlike others who were competing with my other class mates. Watching the latest social media videos of my school I see massive change in the mindset of the students and teachers, fast moving and who are far ahead and well versed with myriad aspects. Congrats to all the toppers.
