A massive landslide in Papua New Guinea’s remote highlands on Saturday that killed more than 300 people is the most painful event. It’s time to help brothers and sisters in Papua New Guinea who are looking for help to rescue their people trapped under towering mounds of rubble and mud (“Rescue teams arrive at site of deadly landslide in Papua New Guinea,” May 25, Gulf Today website).
According to the report, “There are a lot of houses under the debris that cannot be reached,” said UN official Serhan Aktoprak, who estimated more than 3,800 people lived in the village. “The land continues to slide and move, and that makes it dangerous for people to operate,” he said.
The world should offer generous help and rescue teams to participate in search operations and save the lives of people trapped under towering mounds of rubble and mud.
I am sure the Papua New Guinea government will not leave any stone unturned to save human life and provide complete health facilities to the injured people.
