I am deeply concerned about the ongoing conflicts, involving some of the nuclear powers, in different parts of the world. It appears to me to be a complicated issue for the world to remain peaceful and a global catastrophe seems to be in the store. With the recent attacks, the confrontation between Russia and Ukraine has entered a new and terrible phase, and the world is understandably concerned about how the progressive community will fare in the face of mounting hostility. It is always frightening that war is knocking on the doors. A minor miscommunication could jeopardise decades of world peace. Even if time is running out, the leaders of the developed countries should continue to engage in actions to resolve the issues amicably. There is no second thought to someone who believes that living in the Stone Age would have been considerably better, given that advanced humans are still engaged in combat for negligible benefits.
The traumas that the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki endured decades ago would seem insignificant in comparison to a nuclear weapons explosion of the new age.
