We are too used to the weapons of war and protest, ranging from placards to bombs but there is a new, non-violent, and annoying tool designed to cause a disturbance, a jigsaw.
Wimbledon’s tennis championship has already suffered from the angry jigsaw thrower. They are so worried they have stopped selling jigsaws although it was hardly the souvenir that one would expect them to sell as tennis is all energy and activity whereas jigsaws are more sedate.
There is much to protest about but throwing up to 5,000 pieces of coloured cardboard hardly seems more than just an annoyance.
Maybe it is just a very British way to protest.
