An actor’s career is filled with highs and lows and it’s only those lucky few who manage to sustain A-level fame for a long time. This week we take a look at a group of actors whose flailing careers were saved by one particular movie.
Reese Witherspoon found fame in the “Legally Blonde” movies in 2001 playing the much-loved character of Elle Woods. By 2005 Witherspoon had won an Oscar for the movie “Walk the Line.” In spite of these successful films, Witherspoon’s career nose-dived as she starred in a series of movies that all flopped. This continued until 2014 when she produced and starred in the drama film “Wild.” The movie revived her career and Witherspoon now has a net worth of $400m.
Back in the ‘90s Winona Ryder’s career was soaring with hit movie after hit movie and award nominations including an Oscar, a BAFTA and even a Golden Globe win. However, in 2001 all that changed after Ryder was bizarrely arrested for shoplifting. She stayed out of the limelight for a long time until her role in “Black Swan” in 2010. Ryder regained her popularity and went on to be cast in the hugely successful TV series “Stranger Things.”
