The deepfake image of megastar Taylor Swift dressed up like Uncle Sam, falsely suggesting she endorses Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, has shocked the world (“Donald Trump posted a fake image of singer Taylor Swift,” Aug.23, Gulf Today website).
According to the report, Deception has long played a part in politics, but the rise of artificial intelligence tools that allow people to rapidly generate fake images or videos by typing out a phrase adds another complex layer to a familiar problem on social media. Pop queen Taylor Swift has never supported former President Donald Trump in her life and she has clearly criticised his personality earlier.
Deepfake images and videos always play a huge part in confusing people. Advanced technology has changed the pace of life in the world and now it's fully involved in all segments of livelihood. The United States of America, the world's biggest democratic country, is now experiencing the taste of misuse of advanced technology in the 2024 general election campaign.
It’s very clear that the revolution of information technology is not a problem but the way people are using it – for the wrong purpose to benefit from it for a small period of time.
