Its back to school for the students and so is the disconcertment among parents faced with the challenging tasks ahead. Although I head to office and not to school I get somehow perplexed with all the big talk about students getting back to school with big dos and don’ts.
I literally had to see kids screeching in shops at their parents in selecting the right outfits for them, doing last-minute shopping whilst I was doing my little shopping and I coerced myself to ask a couple why all this big fuss and theatre?
Let’s take it easy. All of them had a break and I am pretty certain that most of them used the holidays to the fullest. I my self passed out from one of the schools in the UAE and we were waiting to get back to school after those long summer days, catching up with classmates from various walks of life. We would never cringe on not studying and rant on carrying heavy school bags.
These days kids have lots to explore through their tablets and smartphones. The education modus operandi and systems have changed and so even the parents’ thinking habits as they need to get along with the current curriculum.
Having said that the tuition fees, costs of textbooks and other expenses can also mount up for parents. We never had any welcoming songs, pamphlets sent out to our parents.
