It is really painful to know that our Women in Blue have failed to win over Australia, that too just by 9 runs, to stand a chance to qualify for a semi-final berth in the ongoing T-20 World Cup Tournament in the UAE. Though our bowlers succeeded in restricting the mighty World Champion team, Australia to just 151 runs, our bats-women, except our captain Harmanpreet Kaur, just gifted their wickets away and lost the plot. Unfortunately, Smriti Mandhana failed to take off, when needed the most.
The worst part is our losing 4 wickets during the final over, which is unpardonable. Running between the wickets was the worst. It is time our coach concentrates on improving batting techniques and running skills of our tail-end players, as they failed to give the strike to their captain who was stranded at the non-strikers end. Another golden chance wasted by our players to have a chance to go for the World Cup title.
