The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan as white-ball captain. This is what I was expecting for a very long time. Rizwan is a wonderful player and he is very consistent also. Making him the leader of the team will be good for the team. He has time and again proved his leadership skills in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). I am also happy to hear that Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah have been recalled for next month's white-ball series in Australia. I hope Babar and Shaheen regain their form in Australia. A lot depends on them. Both of them are star players and the team expects a lot from them.
I also appreciate former international fast bowler Aaqib Javed for bringing in a little change in the approach of PCB. This is after a long time I have noticed that fresh faces have been added to the squad like Arafat Minhas, Kamran Ghulam, Jahandad Khan, Tayyab Tahir, Ahmed Daniyal, Sufyan Moqim and a few more. I am sure young guns will try to cement their position in the team as early as possible. I like the way PCB is looking at the future too. They need young players who can grab the spot. Let’s see how it goes.
