Climate change has now gripped the world badly which is alarming for the existence of the whole world (“Spain races to save victims as floods kill 95,” Oct.31, Gulf Today website).
The news of rainstorms, heat waves, cyclones, flooding and forest fires in many parts of the world has made headlines worldwide regularly in which according to the reports the world is sacrificing heavy losses of lives and facing economic disasters.
It’s so painful and sad to read the story of flash floods in Spain that turned village streets into rivers, ruined homes, disrupted transportation and killed at least 95 people in the worst natural disaster to hit the European nation in recent memory.
According to the report, emergency services in the eastern region of Valencia confirmed a death toll of 92 people on Wednesday. Another two casualties were reported in the neighbouring Castilla La Mancha region, while southern Andalusia reported one death. Rainstorms that started on Tuesday and continued on Wednesday caused flooding across southern and eastern Spain, stretching from Malaga to Valencia.
Where there’s is a will there’s a way. The world has to adopt concrete measures and strategy to tackle the biggest threat to the world of the present time.
