Congratulations to New Zealand Cricket team for their historic white wash of 3-0 series win over Rohit Sharma and his boys, that too in our own den. Though they lost the series 2-0 to Sri Lanka, they learnt their lessons to tackle our spinners in India.
Moreover, their spinners' skills were honed by Sri Lankan spinner Rengana Herath to plot the downfall of our so called world class players of spin. Added to the woe was the selection of playing XI, based on horses for courses. Siraj was a misfit@Mumbai, where they could have taken another spinner or a batsman, as Siraj hardly bowled six overs in this Test.
Anyway, there is no point in crying over the split milk. It is time for the BCCI to act tough. There are many talented players waiting in the wings. But, we do have a biased set up in the form of officials, which should be corrected by the BCCI.
It would be wise if they first cut the yearly Contract amount and also the match fees, purely based on players performance on the field and not on their past performances. If the Board fails to act, it would be nice if the paying spectators act to ensure empty stadiums in future!
