The shooting competition held during the inaugural Al Forsan Ramadan Championship concluded on Saturday. Organized by Al Forsan International Sports Resort, the tournament kicked off on May 8 with large numbers of participants from the UAE and several other countries. The shooting competition attracted unprecedented numbers of shooters who took part in the.22 rifle and the 9mm pistol categories of the competition.
The.22 rifle male category saw Nayef Saeed Al Kathiri winning the first prize, followed by Nayef Al Moharami, while Saqr Al Dahmani took the third place.
In the female category, Mohra Ahmad Al Tamimi took the first place, followed by runner-up Aoi Lisette Lofranco and Aysha Ahmed Al Suwaidi in third place. The 9mm pistol category was also very competitive, with shooter Mohammed Al Kaabi taking the first place, followed by Ali Mubarak Omar coming in second place, and Khalid Al Menhali in third place.
Tamimi won her second title in the event when she took first place in the female category for the 9mm pistol category. Sondos Al Rawi and Hind Al Junaibi came in second and third place respectively. Tariq Abdul Rahim Al Hosani, Vice Chairman of Al Forsan International Sports Resort, and Khalifa Al Hemeiri, CEO of Al Forsan Holding, handed out a total of Dhs240,000 of prize money to the winners.
Hosani congratulated the winners and praised Al Forsan International Sports Resort for strengthening the sports scene in Abu Dhabi by organizing tournaments and competitions for citizens and residents, while providing various entertainment options to help young adults make the best out of their time.
Hosani said: “We look forward to having bigger and better tournaments organized by Al Forsan both locally and regionally. We are happy with the success of the inaugural edition and the Al Forsan International Sports Resort will be hosting the competition again next Ramadan in 2020.”
Besides shooting, the karting competition was held as a part of the Al Forsan Ramadan Championship.
