The Al Heloo and Al Emadi siblings will be representing the UAE (UAE) in the 2019 Asia Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC) Junior Championship in Japan.
Reema and Obaid Al Heloo along with Alia and Rashid Al Emadi will be competing in a 72-hole mixed-gender team championship hosted at the Hakone Country Club.
Over 3-days (72-holes), teams will be made up of one male and one female player from each country. The pairs will be grouped with a different country each day except the seeded draw for round 3.
The competition will be stroke play as the first round will be four-balls, the second round in foursomes, and the third round will be an individual gross score.
Heading into the Championship the players are feeling confident and rested after spending 10 days during July in Ireland at The K Club and Carton House for a summer training camp.
Traveling with the players are Khalid Mubarak Al Shamsi, EGF Secretary-General, and National Team Captain as well as April Varney, UAE Ladies National Team Coach.
“Our players are ready to compete. We feel that we are in a good position with our teams by having the brothers and sisters playing together. They know each other very well and can help each other when needed”, Shamsi said.
The players are coming off a full season having had a solid GCC Golf Championship, playing in the UAE Presidents Cup, and competing in the Emirates Golf Federation Order of Merit events. Both the Al Heloos and Al Emadis are a product of the National Junior Development Programme (NJDP) that has seen rapid development over the years.
