Al Forsan International Sports Resort announced its development of a new system for managing the practice of shooting at its facilities.
The announcement was made on Thursday during the resort’s participation at the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) 2019 that is being taking place under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Ruler’s Representative of Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Falconers’ Club.
Khaleefa Al Hemeiri, CEO of Al Forsan Holding, revealed that Al Forsan International Sports Resort had recently amended the regulations of the shooting practices at its facilities, in close coordination with the governing bodies and authorities.
The new measures have been set to give an opportunity for more segments of the community to enjoy shooting, as this sport has deep cultural roots and counts as one of the best in utilizing the power of youth and having them acquire new skills including concentration and patience, in addition to developing their challenging spirit and passion for achievement, he said.
Hemeiri detailed out the new system would allow individuals 16 years old and above to practice shooting with 22 mml pistols, 15 years old and above shooting rifles at 300 meter distance, and 22 mm pistols and clay shooting for 12 years old and above.
Hemeiri highlighted that one of the boldest features of the new system is allowing licensed gun owners to practice shooting using their own guns at the resort given that they meet the safety and security measures of the resort’s facilities.
The gun owners have to get a temporary carry permit by filing a request through the Abu Dhabi Police mobile phone application before carrying their guns to the resort.
“Strict terms and regulations were designed on how to handle the weapon from the moment of transporting it from the owner’s car through using it while shooting, and ending with taking it back to the car, following the safety procedures of the resort,” said Hemeiri.
“The new regulations will contribute in attracting more people to practice shooting which is counted as one of the favorite heritage and popular sports across various generations.
