Pedro Conde netted a super hat-trick as Bani Yas overcame Al Wahda 4-3 in an exciting matchweek 3 game on Friday. After a slow start to the game, Al Wahda took the lead in the 21st minute when they were awarded a penalty following a foul against Sebastian Tagliabue. The Argentine forward converted from the spot to put the Clarets 1-0 up.
The guests’ lead didn’t last long as Conde leveled up the score line only five minutes later. Eissa Saqer’s cross found Suhail Al Noubi who passed it to Conde and the latter tapped home.
The Brazilian forward was in the center of action 10 minutes later as he was awarded a penalty kick only to net his second of the night and give his side a 2-1 advantage.
Only four minutes after the restart, Conde completed his hat-trick. Following a low ball from Luiz Antonio, Conde slotted the ball into the open net to further extend the hosts’ lead.
On the other side of the field, Tagliabue netted his second of the night to reduce the deficit on the one-hour mark. Khalil Al Hammadi’s cross found the Argentine forward who headed the ball home.
Only 10 minutes later, the Sky Blues regained their two-goal difference through in-form Conde. A perfect counter-attack saw the ball fell to the Brazilian forward who sent a powerful strike into the back of the net.
Al Wahda refused to give up and pulled one back when they were awarded a penalty in the 79th minute. Carlitos converted from the spot to make it 3-3.
Deep into injury time, Fawaz Awana was sent off as Bani Yas earned a 4-3 win over Al Wahda.
Bani Yas now sit sixth on the league table on five points, while Al Wahda are 10th on three points. Conde became the first player to net four goals in one game in the 2019-20 Arabian Gulf League season.
