Colonel Eshaq Al Alblooshi meets World Boxing Council head

Colonel Eshaq Alblooshi and Thomas Sarkis, Representative of World Boxing Council in Middle East, met Mauricio Sulaiman, President of World Boxing Council (WBC) at the opening ceremony of the WBC 57th Annual Convention last week in Mexico.
The prospect of boxing was discussed in the meeting along with bringing boxing to the Middle East.
The World Boxing Council is one of four major organizations which sanction world championship boxing bouts.
The WBC is a non-profit organization and it regulates, controls and supervises professional boxing events worldwide.
The WBC was formed in 1963 and is based in Mexico.
The World Boxing Council is presided by Mauricio Sulaiman.
The WBC is one of four major sanctioning bodies recognised by the International Boxing Hall of Fame, along with the WBA, IBF and WBO.
The World Boxing Council was initially established by 11 countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, France, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Venezuela.
They met in Mexico City on February 14, 1963, upon the invitation of the then President of Mexico, Adolfo López Mateos, to form an international boxing organisation that would achieve the unity of all commissions of the world to control the expansion of boxing.
