Purebred Arabian race returns to Jebel Ali Racecourse

The Jebel Ali Racecourse will host its second meeting of the season on Friday, highlighted by the return of Purebred Arabian series.

First race on the seven-race card purely for the particular breed, sponsored by Al Sahel Contracting Company, has attracted a field of 16 runners.

Dubai Real Estate Centre will support two races.

The only feature race on the card is 1400m race for thoroughbred, sponsored by Shadwell Farm, has attracted 10 runners with Royston French, who got injured last week in Abu Dhabi, will be riding Salem Bin Ghadayer-trained Inverleigh for Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Minister of Finance.

French will also saddle Untold Secret in a 1600m handicap sponsored by Dubai Real Estate Centre.

Jebel Ali trainer Nicholas Bachalard said the track remains safe and in good condition to host the seven races despite the rains hitting the track on Sunday.

“It’s always good to see Arabian racing staged alongside a thoroughbred card,” said Yasir Mabrouk, representing the Emirates Racing Authority.

“It looks like a very good card if you look at the horses that have been confirmed and I think the feature race which is a 1400m handicap is sure to produce a very good finish,” added Mabrouk.

Friday’s seven-race will be sponsored by Al Shafar Investment, Al Sahel Contracting Company, Dubai Real Estate Centre, Shadwell Farm, Dubai Refreshment (PJSC) and Serve U.
