The Daikin Back Office completed their unbeaten run in the final of the Manuport Logistics Cricket Tournament, beating Manuport Logistics by 38 runs.
Batting first in the final after winning the toss, Daikin scored 69 runs in their allotted 8 overs with Manish and Misha scoring 12 and 13 runs respectively, while GK took 2 wickets for Manuport. In reply, Manuport could manage only 31 runs with GK and Asgar scoring 12 and 11 runs. Pavan bowled exceptionally well, taking three big Manuport wickets.
Parvez Parishwadi of Manuport won the Best Batsman award while Daikin Factory's Shabbir was adjudged Best Bowler. The man of the tournament for his all-round performance was Manish of Daikin Back Office. Third place was taken by Daikin Factory with fourth place going to Daikin Services.
Meanwhile, Dubai Mammoths returned home from a successful tour of Chiang Mai in Thailand, winning all their three matches against Lanna Cricket Club’s A, B and C sides.
Dubai Mammoths started their tour with an easy win against Lanna’s C Division side. The home club, batting first, barely crossed the 100-run mark in the face of good bowling by Ranjeet Chavan (3-30), Mukund Srinivasan (2-21) and Shiva Pagarani (2-3).
However, on Day 2, the Division B side pushed them to the last over. Dubai Mammoths scored 198 from their 30 overs, courtesy of Devinder Taneja's 51 before retiring hurt, Kunal Jain (35), Anshul Siroya (22) and Kanishk Monga (26). Lanna’s B Division side fought well through Jon Scales (58), Gregg (34) and Ton Lamphun (42) but just could not win.
In the third match, Lanna’s Division A team put up a stiff 199. Changhai (83), Jon Scales (23) and Burhan (22 not out) were their top scorers but Dubai Mammoths gave a befitting reply through Mukund Srinivasan (62), Vijender Rana (44) and Kunai Jain (48).
