The third week of the third Labour Sports Tournament (LST), organized by Labor Standards Development Authority in Sharjah, was concluded with great success on the playgrounds at Sharjah National Park, with the participation of 120 teams competing in football, basketball, volleyball, cricket and hockey.
The competitions witnessed a strong and exciting competition, while the big audience were one of the most prominent scenes, due to the great competitive level shown by all the teams, which reflects the importance of sports activities in general, and the interest of the Emirate of Sharjah in particular.
Salem Yousef Al Qaseer, Chairman of the Labour Standards Development Authority in Sharjah, attended the competitions, and praised the level and the high skills shown by the players, especially in football, as well as basketball, hockey and volleyball.
He expressed his surprise for the high technical level of a large number of young players, who have noticeably achieved high levels, making the tournament an opportunity for the clubs to discover special players to join their teams.
Qaseer praised the sporting spirit of all the players participating in the competitions, confirming the role of the tournament in nurturing the spirit of honest competition and the noble values that sport confers on its competitors.
Qaseer was keen to inspect all playgrounds and talk to the team leaders and players to have their opinions and comments to improve the next versions. He also attended a traffic awareness campaign conducted for the team members.As for the results of the third week, they came as follows:
In football Pitch A, the ADNOC A team achieved a great victory over Khoury company team 9-0, and the Pro Smart team beat the Sharjah Municipality team 19-1, and Falcon Pak defeated United Arab Bank three clean scores, reach Target won Hamriyah municipality 1-0, Smart Touch also defeated Identity and Nationality 4-3, and Biz Link Real Estate beat ADNOC (B) 9-1.
In football Pitch B, Sharjah Cement defeated Al Furat Group team 3- 0, and the Sharjah Police team tied with the Social Services Department 2 - 2, and Al Mumayaz warning and control systems won over the Sharjah Municipality (b) 7 - 0, and the Dubai Ports team tied with the European Union for Contracting 2-2, Fast B won Beea 4-1, and the Injazat team defeated Charging and Discharging team 2 clean goals.
An Exciting basketball competitions resulted in Armado defeating ADNOC 90 - 66, and Lacnor defeating Irmap 20 zero, Abu Shagarah team defeated Astig 88 - 70, and Hamriya won Beeah 43 - 41, and the Al Abyadth-FNCT team also won Medpharma 61 - 39.
In volleyball, the competitions resulted in the Sharjah Police team beating Beeah 2-0, and with the same result, Success Point won over Lacnor, and in hockey, Accipeter defeated Sharjah Municipality 4-0, and UTSC tied with UEHC 1 - 1.
