MBM Gulf CC defeated Karwan Strikers by one wicket in a thrilling match of the BS Champions Trophy season two at the Eden Gardens in Ajman.
Karwan Strikers won the toss and elected to bat first. They were off to a perfect start as Sami and Furqaan shared a 42-run stand for the opening wicket.
Sami hit 30 while Furqaan scored 10. After their departure, Karwan Srikers were in a spot of bother as they lost two quick wickets.
Later, Jahandad Khan and Tariq Mahmood played unbeaten knocks of 44 and 86 respectively as Karwan Srikers posted 205 for the loss of four in the allotted 20 overs.
Mahmood smashed 54 off 26 balls (4 X 4, 5 X 6) and Khan scored 44 off 30 balls, including six boundaries and one six.
In reply, MBM Gulf received an early jolt when they lost their opener Waqas Ahmed at 28. Zawar Fareed also returned to the dressing room without opening the account.
Aamir Sohail (51) and Syed Maqsood (45) revived their innings.
Later, Sami Younus hit quick-fire 41 to help his team achieve the target in the last over of the match.
Sohail of MBM Gulf was named man of the match. The tournament is being played under the auspices of Ajman Cricket Council.
Six teams including Karwan Strikers, ANIB XI, Bukhatir XI, MBM Gulf, Chemietech CC and Phoenix Medicine are taking part in the tournament.
