Riaz Khaliq Kaku claimed five wickets as Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (Sewa) defeated Allen Electrical Services by seven wickets in a Rashid Alleem Premier League (RPL) match on Monday.
Kaku became the second bowler in the RPL history to take five wickets after Charanjeet Singh.
Allen Electrical Services won the toss and elected to bat first.
Eappen Mathew and Mohammed Sadiq gave them a perfect start as they shared a 47-run stand.
Nabeel Pulicharchi provided Sewa the breakthrough after removing Mathew (17). Later, Kaku took the wicket of Sadiq (41).
Following Mathew and Sadiq return to the dressing room, other Allen Electrical Services lost wickets at regular intervals and finally they were all out for 129.
Babar Ghazanfar hit unbeaten 58 off 43 balls as Sewa chased down the target in 12.2 overs. H Nabbi (25) and Muhammad Waseem (19) were also among the runs.
Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) thumped Gulf O Flex by nine wickets.
Kifayat Khan took five wickets as ADCB bowled out Gulf O Flex for 78.
Except Mohammed Shafeeque (40) and Muhammad Ali (15) none of Gulf O Flex batsmen could manage to reach the double figure. In reply, ADCB scored the winning runs in just 8.1 overs.
Geco Industrial Packing thrashed Eternity Technologies by 107 runs.
Farzam Alam scored 68 and Nawaz Ahmad hit 44 to help Geco Industrial Packing post 207 for the loss of six wickets. They later bundled out Eternity Technologies for 100.
In other matches, Gargash beat Dubai Islamic Bank by three wickets while EITC beat Sharjah Cement by 15 runs in a closely contested match.
