Amled School organised their first kindergarten football tournament to celebrate the bold ‘Vision of 2020: Towards the next 50 years’ in a spectacular way. In keeping with the theme of 2020, the tourney was an initiative to inspire and develop a healthy attitude and fitness among the young enthusiasts through sports and games.
Presided over by the Principal, Fr Varghese Puthusserry , the tourney was attended by Fr Simy Joseph who arrived from Canada to grace this occasion. The football ground was agog with excitement as both parents and students cheered for their favourite team.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Fr Varghese Puthusserry said “We, at Amled School give utmost importance to sports along with excellence in academics. The motto of sports is not win at all cost, it is fun at all cost.Through sports we look at inculcating the right values and spirit of team work in our kids. We want every child to be sporting for fun and true spirit of sports.”
The match saw ‘The Fierce Falcons’ pitted against ‘The Terrific Tigers,’ both of whom were equally strong and showing excellent skills on the pitch.
The Terrific Tigers launched an attack with an awesome run down the centre and scored the first goal of the game. A few minutes later, their captain Atharva, capitalising on a superb cross, added a second to their tally.
After a break, during which spectators on the ground were entertained by cheer-leading teams, The Terrific Tigers scored two more goals without reply from the The Fierce Falcons.
The captain of the losing team Vihaan, though refused to lose heart. He said, “I strongly believe that we will win in the future”.
While the winners recieved the Gold trophy from the chief guest, the runners-up were awarded the silver trophy. There were also individual trophies for all the players.
