Emirati’s again stole the show at the 20th Sharjah International Show Jumping Championship as they won the Nations Cup and young riders category finals at the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club.
Eisa Omran Al Owais aboard Avelon finished on top after completing the round in 43.60 seconds and collecting maximum 65 points to win the young riders category.
Denmark’s Tina Lund saddling Payse Heutiere came second while Iranian rider Farhang Sadeghi aboard W Piccolini took third spot.
The second qualifying round of the Longines Grand Prize, CSI3* - one round against the clock — saw a participation of 43 riders.
12 riders completed the round without faults. The first place went to Saudi Arabia’s Abdullah Al Sharbatly who took the victory in the CSI3* Cavalor Challenge.
Saddling Artuur JH Z, the Suadi ace Sharbatly finished in a brilliant time of 59.79 seconds.
Whaled Alghamdi aboard Cenieta took second spot after clocking 62.94 seconds. Germany’s Jorg Naeve aboard HH Fleur came third took with 64.48 seconds.
The 20th Sharjah International Show Jumping Championship was held under the patronage of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.
For the third year in a row, Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club hosted the Nations Cup for Children, young and juniors, of the FEI Group VII Finals.
The first three places of the last two rounds went to the UAE teams.
The Emirati team won the Young and Junior nations cup, whereas the Children Nation Cup went to the Egyptian riders.
The Nations Cup competition began with the Children Nation Cup CSIOCh in the indoor Arena, specified of the two rounds with jump-off at (110) cm which saw the and participation of four teams including hosts UAE, Egypt, Jordan and Syria.
The Egyptian team consisted of Haya Osama El Borai, Moustafa El Zayat, Ali El Barbary, Ismail Osama El Borai won the Nation Cup.
The UAE team won the second place. Humaid Dherar Al Thani, Hamad Al Nuaimi, Eissa Yousuf Al Mulla and Abdullah Hamad Al Kirbi represented the hosts.
Bouncing back, Kirbi led the UAE to victory in the Junior Nations Cup CSIOJ from two rounds at (120) cm height.
Riders from the UAE, Jordan and Egypt took part in the competition.
Along with Omar Abdul Aziz Al Marzooqi, Mohamed Sultan Al Yahyai and Abdulla Ahmed Ameen, Kirbi completed the two round with just four penalty points points.
The UAE team also won the Young Riders Nation Cup after winning a two-round competition.
The UAE team consisted of Humaid Abdulla Al Muhairi, Moufi Al Karbi, Saeed Moh’d Al Maazmi and Ali Hamad Al Kirbi.
