Fast A and National Paints have qualified for the football final of the Sharjah Labour Sports Tournament (SLST) organized, at the playgrounds of the Sharjah National Park, by the Labour Standards Development Authority in Sharjah.
National Paints team qualified after defeating the Sharjah Police team in a strong and exciting match, scoring 2-3. The police team performance lost the match but won the praise from the audience.
Similarly, in the second meeting of the semi-final matches, Fast A team struggled to reach the final after a strong match with the Civil Defence team scoring one clean goal. The Civil Defence team also gained respect for their excellent performance.
The basketball competitions held as part of the same tournament, two strong and exciting games were played in search for the title.
The Fast Building Contracting team defeated the ASTIG team - 20-0, the AFEPL team won the Falcon Pak team 68-65, and the Comrades team also defeated ADNOC 59-46. Al Byadh - FCNT defeated ASTIG 74-62, DP World defeated Al Hamriyah 92-56, and Bicol Oragon defeated Comrades 55-43, Armado defeated the Net Rippers team 20-0, and Lacnor team defeated the Sharjah Cooperative Society team 20-0.
In the volleyball even, two matches were played, IVL B beat Lacnor by 1-2 score 25-22,14-25 & 12-25. In the other game Heat shield beat Shj police by 2-0 score 25-22 & 25-17.
The cricket competitions witnessed strong matches, resulted in the SEWA-A team victory over the Municipality B by 57 runs, and the SEWA-A team also beat the Sri Lions team by two runs, the Eleven Warriors team beat the Bangladesh Brothers by 33 runs, the Eleven Warriors also defeated the JRC by 8 wickets, and the Arabian Gulf team defeated Sri Lions by 2runs.
The hockey teams took a rest this week in this biggest competition of its kind which attracted 120 team in five different sports competitions.

He said: “The Sharjah Labour Sports Tournament in its current version is witnessing an unprecedented participation of 120 teams. This shows a bright image reflecting the true concept of honest competition, as instructed by the wise leadership of the country to make the UAE an attractive and ideal sports environment for all residents from all countries of the world. The competition will help building relationships among participants, as well as having the many benefits of sports physically technically and socially.”
He added: “We commend the sportsmanship that all players and all teams display during competitions, reflecting the noble values of sports in self-improvement.”
