Ajman Stud’s AJ Trim stole the show in Mares Championship during the 21st edition of the Sharjah International Arabian Horse Festival held at the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club.
The second place went to Juri Al Badayer, owned by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Saud Al-Qasimi while Dubai Stud for Arabian Horses’ De Seeneyyah got bronze.
In the Fillies Championship category dedicated to two to three years, D Gharam of Dubai Arabian Horse Stud clinched gold.
Silver wen to Second place Jamilah Al Bidayer, owned by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Saud Al Qasimi. Ajman Stud’s Arsenia OS took bronze.
In the Colts Championship category devoted to two to three years, D Shakhat of Dubai Stud for Arabian Horses took top spot. Ajman Stud’s Suke Santonio Me took third spot.
254 horses representing eight different countries took part in the competition.
The Sharjah International Arabian Horse Festival was graced by Sheikh Abdullah Bin Majid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club, Ali Salem Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah International Airport Authority, Mohammed Al Tawhidi, Director of the Dubai Stud for Arabian Horses.
“The Middle East is globally recognised as an equestrian hub and world-class events hosted in the UAE continue to showcase the legendary grace, beauty, speed and power of Arabian thoroughbreds, said Sultan Mohammed Khalifa Al Yahyaee, General Manager of the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club.
The festival featured some of the finest Arabian breeds of horses from Arab and European countries.
The four-day event, which begin on March 4 and concluded on Saturday, was held under the patronage of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
This festival was approved by the European Conference of Arab Horse Organizations (ECAHO).
First and second place winning horses were qualified to participate in the championship classes in the third and last day of the festival which consists of six championships: Yearling Fillies Championship, Fillies Championship, Mares Championship, Yearling Colts Championship, Colts Championship and Stallions Championship.
The Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club organises an annual festival for Arabian Horses.
The first Sharjah Arabian Horse Festival took place in 2000- 2001 at the club arena.
The Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club hosts two more festivals annually including one for Straight Egyptian bred and one for local bred Arabians.
