Al Dhafra qualified for the final of the President’s Cup with a victory over Bani Yas at the Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. Al Dhafra’s lone goal was scored by Diego Gardel off a penalty kick in the 13th minute of the first half of the injury time after the match ended in a 0-0 draw at the end of the normal time.
They will face Al Ain in the final. Al Ain defeated Sharjah 3-2 in the other semi-final.
For Al Ain, Palazzo Dzsodszak, Borzhan Islamkhan and Caio Canedo were on the target, scoring in the fourth 32nd and the 38th minutes respectively.
While Marcus Vinceius and Caio Lucas scored a goal each for Sharjah in the 12th and the 42nd minute respectively.
Earlier, in the quarter-final, Bani Yas stunned Shabab Al Ahli Dubai 1-0 to continue their stellar run at the President Cup.
Meanwhile, UAE football entered a new era on Wednesday under the presidency of Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi. He was appointed as the 11th president of the UAE FA since its inception in 1971.

Meanwhile, the UAE FA in cooperation with the Emirates Professionals Association (EPA) organized a workshop to discuss the medical precautionary measures to safe guard players and supporting staff amid the coronavirus fears.
Mohamed Abdullah Hazam Al Dhaheri, Secretary General of the Football Association, confirmed that the initiative came in implementation of the directives of Sheikh Rashid, newly-elected Chairman of the UAE FA and transitional committee, which stipulates taking all medical precautions that would preserve the integrity of all elements of the game.
