Sharjah managed to get an easy 3-0 win against Fujairah which help them to take fourth place in the Arabian Gulf League in matchweek 19 at Fujairah Stadium.
The King was possessing the ball for the first 20 minutes. Until they were finally able to score a goal after a series of stunning passes. Ryan Mendes passed the ball to Luanzinho, who then passed it to Marcus Vinicius. Vinicius then sent a rocket into the back of Abdullah Al Tamimi’s net, in the 19th minute, bringing the score up to 1-0.
In the 30th minute, Fernando Gabriel tried to even the score for the Wolves when he made a long shot only for it to hit Adel Al Hosani’s post.
Mendes managed to dribble past the Wolves’ defense in the 75th minute after a long run, scoring a second goal for the King to make the game even harder for Fujairah.
In the last minute of the match, the King scored a third goal to diminish any hopes for the Wolves to come back, Caio Lucas ran and dribbled through the defense in a quick counter-attack, and then the ball to Otabek Shukurov, who easily put tit into the Wolves’ net bringing the score up to 3-0.
In another match, a hard-fought win for Al Wahda brought them to the third place of the table.
The match started off great for the Western Knights when Khalid Bawazir made a long cross to be met by the one and only, Joao Pedro, who then put an exceptional header into the corner of Rashid Ali’s net in the 8th minute, bringing the score up to 1-0.
In the 22nd minute, the first attempt was made by the Clarets when Gaspar Panadero sent a rocket flying to Khalid Al Senani, who was able to successfully save it.
The clarets were successfully able to bring the game into a draw in the 58th minute when Sebastian Tagliabue made an outstanding shot into Al Senani’s net to bring the score to 1-1.
In the 74th minute, the Clarets turned tables against the Western Knights, when Ismael Matar made a short pass that ended with Paul M’Poku, who converted it into a goal into Al Senani’s net.
Super sub Al Hammadi scored at the death as Bani Yas edged Kalba 2-1, at Bani Yas Stadium.
After a slow start, Kalba were awarded a penalty kick in the 43rd minute after Salem Al Hammadi handled the ball inside the box. Peniel Mlapa converted the ball into the back of the net to make it 1-0 for the Tigers.
Bani Yas responded immediately in the second half, when the ball hit Sultan Al Zaabi’s hand compelling the referee to points to the spot and award the Sky Blues a penalty kick, that was finished into the back of the net by Richard Oliveira in the 52nd minute. Al Zaabi was shown a second yellow card in the incident to force his side to complete the remainder of the game with 10 men.
Bani Yas tried to capitalize on the numerical advantage, when Oliveira tried his luck with a freekick strike from the edge of the box, however, his effort was denied by Jamal Al Sarrah just 10 minutes before the fulltime whistle.
In the dying moments of the game, Bani Yas turned things around as super sub Mohammed Rashid Al Hammadi was left with a simple tap in after Fawaz Awana’s initial strike was denied by the goalkeeper.
Lima’s header made the difference as Al Nasr defeated Khorfakkan 1-0 at Al Maktoum Stadium.
Al Nasr were first to threaten Khorfakkan in the 20th minute, when Brandley Kuwas tried his luck from outside the box, however, his strike was saved by Mohammed Yousef following a deflection off Kouame Autonne.
It took the Green Eagles 33 minutes to respond, as Antonio Junior’s ground cross was met by Bruno Lamas, whose effort was denied by the post to keep the game deadlocked into halftime.
The Blues kept pushing forward and four minutes past the one-hour mark, Mohannad Khamis’ sent an accurate cross towards Lima, who converted past Yousef with a composed header.
Khorfakkan wasted a marvelous chance to level things up in the 77th minute through Ramon Lopes, whose left footed strike missed the target by a narrow margin.
The win takes Al Nasr to the sixth spot with 31 points ahead of their encounter against Kalba. While, Khorfakkan occupy the 12th spot with 15 points and will face Ajman in the next round of the league.
