Chris Nelson (9) shot a 27-hole total of 45 points to win the August edition of the JA Summer Classic held over the last two days (Wednesday and Thursday) in Jebel Ali, Dubai.
Nelson scored 30 points after the opening day to be tied 2nd to first round leader Jae Hun Kim (12) who was two points ahead of the 43-player field.
A strong morning 9 holes of 15 points secured the overall title in unseasonably warm and humid conditions.
The best score on second day came from Chris Woods (6) with 19 points, equivalent to a gross 37, which took the overall 27-hole gross prize with 30 points. It could even have been so much better, but for a treble bogey no-pointer on the 374-yard par four, 7th hole on The Resort Course.
The next JA Summer Classic event is being planned for September, again open to all Emirates Golf Federation members, and is a qualifier for Handicap Purposes.
The August edition of the JA Summer Classic was supported by ProSports International and Mediclinic.
Stuart McMurdo, Director of Golf at JA The Resort Golf Course said at the prize distribution, “Thanks to all for supporting this second Summer Classic at JA Resort.
