Golf Saudi ambassador Amy Boulden has won the 2020 VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open, with an overall score of -17, sealing the title by three shots.
Her final day score of 64 was the lowest round of the weekend. Starting the final day one shot behind overnight leader Sanna Nuutinen, the 27-year-old dealt with the pressure of trying to chase her first Ladies European Tour, putting in strong performances with both her irons and putter.
Back-to-back birdies on holes 13 and 14 enabled Boulden to secure a comfortable cushion from her nearest rival, Australian Stephanie Kyriacou. Boulden continued to soak up the pressure, going onto par the final four holes and secure a memorable first victory.
Boulden regained her place on the 2020 Ladies European Tour with victory at Qualifying School at La Manga Club in Spain, earlier this year in January 2020. This weekend’s victory in Switzerland was reminiscent of the sort of golf that saw Boulden originally first burst onto the scene in 2014 after a glittering amateur career and means she now sits in fifth place on the Race to Costa del Sol European rankings.
As an international ambassador for Golf Saudi, Amy Boulden is representing Golf Saudi in its extensive efforts to promote the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia globally as an exceptional golfing nation, as well as attracting young Saudis to the game.
