Robert Streb claimed the US PGA Tour's RSM Classic after birding the second playoff hole ahead of Kevin Kisner at the Sea Island Golf Club in Georgia on Sunday.
Streb emulated his 2014 feat to clinch the second US PGA Tour title on the same Seaside course, where he bagged his first six years ago.
In 2014, he rallied from a five-shot deficit, and this time also, he lost a three-shot lead until a 6-iron to 12 feet on the par-3 17th hole for a birdie that allowed him to close with a 2-under 68 and force extra holes.
Streb, who started the day one behind the clubhouse leader Kisner, reached to the top of the leaderboard with a seven-under 63 -- before a birdie at 17 pulled him level.
Streb’s approach on 18 left him with a tap-in birdie for the victory as Kisner settled for par.
"It's nice to get another one knocked off," Streb said of the win.
"Obviously Kiz played a great round today and I just snuck one in there on 17. Felt pretty fortunate to get in the playoff the way things were kind of running there at the end, so really nice to get another one."
Kim Triumph
Kim Sei-young bagged her 12th LPGA crown and followed up her first major title by firing an even-par 70 to win the Pelican Women's Championship by three strokes at the Pelican Golf Club in Belleair on Sunday.
"A win is always great," said world number two Kim, who became the first woman since Ariya Jutanugarn in 2016 to follow a maiden major title with a tour triumph in her next start.
"I'm very happy to win the 12th tournament, and after winning the major tournament, it means a lot to me."
