Al Ain coach Pedro Emanuel took the full responsibility after 4-1 drubbing against Bani Yas in the Round 8 match of the Arabian Gulf League on Tuesday.
Suhail Al Noobi and Joao Pedro netted a brace each as Bani Yas thrashed Al Ain 4-1. With the victory, Bani Yas moved to the seventh spot in standing while Al Ain remained on the fourth with 11 points.
“I am taking the responsibility for the loss. I will not look for, we did not deserve to win against Bani Yas. Our game was not up to the mark,” said Emanuel.
Al Ain came close to reducing the deficit many times but failed to
convert their chances into goals.
Meanwhile, Al Dhafra coach Vuk Rasovic expressed his delight after managing a 1-1 draw against Al Wahda in another match of the day.
Yaseen Al Bakhit’s opener was canceled out by Paul-José M’Poku as Al Dahfra and Al Wahda played out a 1-1 draw at Al Nahyan Stadium. The matches were played in a very patriotic atmosphere to mark the National Day.
Rasovic praised the team to for putting up a fighting show and running away with a draw.
“It is a very important win for the team as we bagged at least one point at a very time. It will boost the morale of the team, especially after losing the last game against Ittihad Kalba,” said Rasovic.
In the previous round match, Al Dhafra were beaten by Kalba 2-1. Al Dhafra are at the 10th spot in the 14-team league.
