Sharjah Women's Sports (SWS) has entered into a partnership agreement with Arada, the fast-growing master developer behind the Aljada and Nasma Residences integrated communities in the emirate, to host and sponsor the Foundation’s events, activations and sports tournaments and events.
The landmark agreement between the two prominent organisations is designed to strengthen Sharjah’s positioning as a sports destination for women.
Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of Arada, said: “We are very pleased to be linking up with Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation, an organisation that has already done much to empower and promote female sport in the region.
“Our partnership is yet more evidence of Arada’s determination to foster stronger ties with local entities that enable us to achieve our goal of connecting people and communities. As a direct result of this agreement, more women in Sharjah will be able to take part in an even greater variety of sports, both at Aljada and around the Emirate.”
Nada Askar Al Naqbi, Director General of Sharjah Women Sports Foundation, said: “This is a significant partnership for the foundation, which comes in alignment with the vision of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Chairperson of SWS, to enter into strategic collaborations to elevate women’s sports in the Emirate.
As part of the agreement, SWS and Arada will collaborate to host a wide range of exciting and engaging events, activations and tournaments, all of which will support the Foundation’s mission to create a sports destination for Sharjah’s women.
The partnership will also promote Emirati women's sport to reach the world by encouraging sports culture in the society.
These events will target families and communities in Sharjah and will also attract participants from across the UAE.
Naqbi added: “We aim to collaborate towards organising some of the most prominent sporting events in Sharjah, in the process strengthening the emirate’s positioning as a major hub for women's sport. These partnerships are designed to promoted women's sport in the emirate to serve the events and tournaments we hold and we look forward to expanding partnerships with all governmental and non-governmental actors.
“This is in line with our desire to provide a base of support, empowerment and the dissemination of sports culture for all girls and women in order to develop their abilities and skills to achieve greater excellence and progress to benefit the environment for women’s sports in the country."
