West Indian pacer Obed McCoy, who returned with a figure of 2-9, against Delhi Bulls opined that playing in the Abu Dhabi T10 is great learning curve.
McCoy took two wickets to help Team Abu Dhabi set up a five-wicket win against Pune Devils. It was first victory for Team Abu Dhabi in the tournament after losing two consecutive matches.
Riding on the brilliant bowling by McCoy, Team Abu Dhabi restricted Devils to 129/4 and chased down the target for the loss of just five wickets with nine balls to spare.
“It is not easy to bowl to unpredictable players. I don’t know most of them. I did some research but playing with them, especially in the smaller format is quite challenging. T10 is a learning experience,” said McCoy.
“These challenges makes me a better players and help us get the best out of us. It gives me experience and to think about the pressure, bowlers should get used to handling pressure in the smaller formats,” he added.
“A lot of things depend on the pitch. It was quite helpful. There was a lot of variation in the turf. It keeps the batsmen guessing,” he apprised.
Earlier, Tom Kohler-Cadmore smacked a 25-ball 61 with the help of five sixes and as many boundaries as Devils notched up 129/4.
However, Devils failed to stop Team Abu Dhabi from getting over the line. Jamie Overton cracked a quick unbeaten 38 runs off just 11 balls, studded with four boundaries and three sixes to undo all the good work done by Kohler-Cadmore.
“It is quite a fun. Having freedom to bat naturally feels nice. The best case scenario in this format is to put as many runs as possible on the board,” said Kohler-Cadmore.
