The Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club will join hands with the Republic of Tatarstan Judo Federation to provide the sport a further boost in the emirate.
The decision to collaborate came during a visit by Pavel Nikolaev, President Judo Federation of Tatarstan, to the Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club.
Nikolaev met top officials from the Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club, when they discussed plans to establish joint training camps.
“The efforts at the grassroots are most important for the development of any sport, and my visit to the Sharjah Club is meant to explore ways by which we can take this sport to the next level,” Nikolaev said.
Nikolaev and the accompanying officials were received at the club premises by Abdul Aziz Al Hammadi, Director, Sports Training Department, coach Maxim Kalinichev and other representatives of the club.
Nikolaev hailed the efforts of Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club in preparing the athletes and providing them all the facilities required to become future champions.
The club has been one of the main martial arts bodies in the emirate dealing with taekwondo, karate, judo and jiu-jitsu.
