Dubai Starlets’ Nilansh Keshwant and Rahul Neelesh bowled brilliant spells to set up a nine-wicket win over Phoenix Medicine in their Bukhatir League match on Tuesday.
Kehswant returned with a mesmerizing figure of 6-17 while Neelesh picked up three wickets to bundled out Phoenix for a paltry 56 runs.
Later, Starlets achieved the target for the loss of just one wicket.
This is the lowest total of Phoenix, who hold the record for highest runs scored, 760 runs at Sharjah stadium. The record lowest score for the Bukhatir League was 29 runs scored by Young Talent Cricket Academy (YTCA) couple of years back.
In another youngsters dominated team, ECB Blues upset favorites MGM Orakzai by three wickets. Winning the toss MGM started well with an opening partner-ship of 48 runs. Jash Giyanani and Adithya captured three wickets each for ECB Blues.
MGM were restricted to 121 all out and ECB in reply lost seven wickets to reach the target.
In the opening match of the 46th Bukhatir League, Al Moharab had a comfortable six wickets win over Noble Future Land. Noble Future were bundled out for 126 with Rizwan Amanat picking up 5 wickets for 21 runs.
In the second match of the league, the Vision Shipping batsmen made merry over the Goltay Cricket Academy lads. Batting first they scored 297 runs with contributions from Asghar Khan 56, Noman Hussain 74 no, Waheed Ahmed 43, Jawad Ghani 34 respectively. Iqrar, Karan Walia and Muhammad Rizvi picked two wickets each.
In reply the Academy kids managed 146 runs with Basat Hassan being the top scorer with 62 and Dhruv Pashashar socring 22.
In a match played at the The Pavilion Al Dhaid, Bukhatir XI King consisting mainly of Sharjah Academy youngsters gave a fright to their seniors Bukhatir XI.
The youngster scored 169 all out with Unaib Rehman scoring 37, Mohammed Halan 34 and Sayed Badi 26. In reply Bukhatir XI were stunned by the Kings by taking initial 5 top order batsman for 19 runs. Unaib Rehman bowled brilliantly taking 5 wickets for 39 runs.Sohail Shah 41 and skipper Faiz Ahmed 87 guided the Bukhatir XI for 4 wicket win.
