According to a press release issued by the franchise on Tuesday, Mahira will be Peshawar Zalmi’s brand ambassador for the third time after PSL III and PSL IV.
Peshawar Zalmi chairman Javed Afridi said on Twitter, "I am very happy to announce that Mahira Khan will be the brand ambassador of Peshawar Zalmi in PSL 6.”
Peshawar Zalmi’s official page also tweeted about the news and said, “Happy to announce & continue our association with @TheMahiraKhan who has been the face of Zalmi and a loyal supporter since the start.
"It should be noted that Javed Afridi had been hinting on social media for the past several days that this time the brand ambassador of Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League would be Turkish actress Isra Belgich alias Halima Sultan.
"After his post, Pakistani fans were convinced that this time Peshawar Zalmi's brand ambassador will be a Turkish actress. But now Javed Afridi has suddenly appointed Mahira Khan as Peshawar Zalmi's ambassador."
Meanwhile, foreign players have started arriving in Karachi as the teams of all four franchises assemble for the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League.
