UAE national coach Bert Van Marwijk announced an expanded list of the probables for a training camp, which will held from March 23-29 in Dubai, it was announced by the UAEFA across their social media platforms.
The camp is being held as a part of the preparatory programme for the joint 2022 World Cup and 2023 Asia Cup qualifiers to be played in June.
The UAE’s joint 2022 World Cup and 2023 Asia Cup qualifiers have already been postponed thrice in the wake of coronavirus and now is slated to be played in June.
The final list for the camp will be announced after the end of the 22nd round of the Arab Gulf League (AGL), which is under way and concludes on Sunday. The UAE are also scheduled to play a friendly against India on March 29 as a part of their preparatory camp.
Van Marwijk is busy charting out a map for the UAE to qualify for the showpiece event. The UAE need to win all their remaining matches to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.
The UAE will play Malaysia and Thailand on June 3 and 7 respectively which will be followed by the clashes against Indonesia and Vietnam on June 11 and 15 respectively.
