On the sidelines of the inaugural Al Habtoor Women's 25K in Dubai on Saturday, veteran sports journalist Alaric Gomes was felicitated by the UAE Tennis Federation and Al Habtoor Group for his decades-long contribution in the media.
“I have been in the UAE since 1996 and it has been such a truly great journey that has brought me in touch with so many eminent people and personalities," said Gomes. The UAE Tennis Federation hailed his work in the field of sports journalism.
“Those, to me, are memories that will stay forever. So to get recognised by the UAE Tennis Federation and the Al Habtoor Group is an experience that will stay with me for a long time as they have shown me the love and respect for what I’ve done for sport in general and tennis in particular.
“My personal appreciation for Khalaf Al Habtoor and Noura Badawi and to Nasser Al Marzouqi and Ahmed Abdul Malik and the entire tennis fraternity here.
“They have all been part of my journey and I owe this appreciation to them all,” he added.
