Sharjah Women’s Sports will host the 13th edition of the Ramadan Tournament from April 20 to April 24. Launched in 2009 and the tournament has witnessed great success over the past years.
This year the tournament consists of three different sports including Futsal, shooting and karate. All precautionary measures will be taken into account during the tournament in order to ensure the safety of the participants.
Nada Al Naqbi, Director General of the Sharjah Women's Sports Organization, greeted players and wished them a blessed Ramadhan, advising them to maintain sport activities during this holy month.
“There are many strategies that we have always adopted on such special occasions for many years, based on the guidance of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, President of the Sharjah Women’s Sports Organisation, as Her Highness pays great attention to such events,” said Naqbi.
"The Sharjah Women’ Sports seeks to achieve many positive aspects in the month of Ramadan, whether in terms of sports, health, or culture that has gained us a sports family that we have gotten used to over the years”
She stressed that these sporting events will take place amidst strict precautionary measures in order to protect everyone and implement the health protocol approved in the country.
“Sharjah Sports Council is our permanent strategic partner in this event. It is also supported by our partners from the sports federations, the UAE Football Association, the Shooting Federation and the Emirates Karate Federation, Sharjah Broadcasting Corporation and Sharjah Government Media Office, Arada Company and the Neymar World Championship.”
She stated that the thirteenth edition of the Ramadan session will start with a virtual session with the presence of the journalist, Dr. Fahd Heikal, to discuss tolerance in sports, followed by the futsal championship, which will be held over the course of four days beginning from April 21.
