Former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi has finally cleared the air over the news about his daughter’s engagement with fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi.
In a recent TV interview, the celebrity cricketer confirmed that Shaheen will be his son-in-law in the future.
Earlier, the young pacer’s father Ayaz Khan had told local media that Shahid Afridi’s family has agreed to the proposal.
When the host asked Afridi about his daughter’s future plan, he said she is currently busy with her studies and wants to become a doctor.
“At present, it is not decided whether she will pursue further studies in Pakistan or England.”
The former cricket captain clarified that though Shaheen also belongs to Afridi clan, he had no relationship with his daughter before the decision for engagement from both sides.
"Afridis have eight tribes, Shaheen and we belong to different tribes," he elaborated.
In March, Shahid Afridi said on Twitter, “Shaheen's family approached my family for my daughter. Both families are in touch, matches are made in heaven, if Allah wills this match will be made too. My prayers are with Shaheen for his continued success on and off the field.”
