The UAE national Olympic football team will play a friendly match against Brazil on Thursday at Karađorđe Stadium, it was informed by the UAE FA in a statement on their website.
They will play the friendly at the end of the preparatory camp being held in Serbia as a part of preparations for the qualifiers of the AFC U-23 Cup.
The AFC U-23 Cup will be staged in the Uzbekistan in 2022. The UAE have drawn in the Group E of the AFC U-23 Cup qualifiers along with Oman, India and Kyrgyzstan.
Of late the UAE colts have played a number of friendlies against Serbian clubs as part of their preparation for the qualifiers.
UAE U-23 coach Spain’s Denis Silva agve the opportunity to test the bench strength of the team ahead of the important clash against Brazil.
The match against a team like Brazil will be great opportunity of the UAE player to interact and play against one of the strongest team of the world.
The 2016 Rio Olympic champions Brazil have been placed in Group D at Tokyo Olympics, which gets under way on July 23. The group also features Germany, Saudi Arabia and Ivory Coast.
Adnan Al Taliani, a member of the national team and technical affairs committee and the supervisor of the Olympic team, said: “That the UAE camp in Serbia is proceeding well as planned. Players are keen to play to improve and get the maximum.”
