The identity of one of the people who died after falling from a US plane they were clinging on to it as it was leaving Kabul airport has been revealed after the Taliban took control of the Afghan capital.
Among those who appeared in a video clip falling from the plane was Zaki Anwari, 19, a player for the Afghan national youth team, who died after falling from a US plane that took off from Kabul airport last Monday, according to the Afghan News Agency.
The British media reported that parts of the young player's body were found on the wheels of the military plane after landing later."
Large numbers of citizens gathered at Kabul airport, seeking to flee Afghanistan, many people were seen trying to board a moving plane in a scene that shook the world.
The Afghan agency added that Anwari fell from a Boeing C-17 plane of the US Air Force, and the General Sports Authority of Afghanistan confirmed the death of the player as well.
Afghanistan came under the grip of Taliban as government collapsed, President Ashraf Ghani fled the country, and thousands of desperate people crowded into Kabul airport trying to escape amid the chaos.
The sudden victory of the rebels, who entered the presidential palace in Kabul, sparked a state of panic in the capital's airport.
