Karim Benzema signed a new deal with Real Madrid on Friday that will keep him at the Spanish League giants until 2023, the club announced.
Since joining Real in 2009 from Lyon, the versatile forward has played an impressive 560 times for the club.
Currently playing in his 13th season, he was named La Liga’s player of the year last year.
During a televised signing ceremony played a video of the best of Benzema, the striker posed for a photograph with Real president Florentino Perez holding up a shirt with Benzema’s name and the number 2023.
The story continues for me at the greatest club on earth, Benzema said.
“I am honoured to be here today, thank you for your trust over the years,” he said.
Benzema was thanked by the club for his long and distinguished service to them.
