Madrid: Dutch striker Memphis Depay scored a late winner as Barcelona eked out a hard-fought 2-1 win against Getafe in their Spanish League match on Sunday.
In the post-Lionel Messi era, Barcelona won two and drew one game to procure seven points form three games and are tied on points with Real Madrid, Sevilla, Valencia and Mallorca.
Barcelona got off to a quick start as Roberto slotted home the opener a Jordi Alba pass to give Barcelona 1-0 lead in the second minute only.
Getafe managed to pull one back through Sandro Ramirez, who fired home an equalizer to restore parity in the 18thg minute.
Depay added one more from the left side of box to put Barca ahead again in the 30th minute. He could have scord another but his shot was parried away by the Getafe goalkeeper. He has two goals and an assist from three Liga games.
Earlier, Real rode their luck ride as Dani Carvajal’s second-half strike gave them a narrow 1-0 win against Real. Real also have seven points from their opening three games.
